Anil K. Gupta is the Michael Dingman Chair in Strategy and Globalization at The University of Maryland at College Park. He is the author of several highly influential books including The Quest for Global Dominance, Getting China and India Right, and The Silk Road Rediscovered. He also writes frequently for the Harvard Business Review.
In addition to his Thinkers50 rankings, he has also been named by The Economist as one of the world’s “superstars” for research on emerging economies, and inducted into the Academy of Management Journals’ “Hall of Fame.” He is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Stewardship Board for the System Initiative on the Future of Consumption and is a frequent speaker at the Forum’s annual meetings in Davos. Anil earned his doctorate from the Harvard Business School and is an elected Lifetime Fellow of the Academy of Management, Strategic Management Society, and Academy of International Business. He is interviewed regularly by CNBC, Bloomberg TV, and other top-tier media.
