Stew Friedman (Ph.D., University of Michigan) is the Practice Professor of Management at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he has been since 1984. He is an award-winning teacher (The New York Times cited the “rock star adoration” he inspires in his students), founding director of Wharton’s Leadership Program and of its Work/Life Integration Project, and author of bestsellers Total Leadership and Leading the Life You Want.

In 2001 Stew concluded a two-year assignment (while on leave from Wharton) as the senior executive at Ford Motor responsible for leadership development worldwide. He contributes regularly to HBR and since 2015 has been hosting a weekly show, Work and Life, on Sirius XM’s Wharton Business Radio (available as a free podcast).  Stew’s highly-praised MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) on Coursera have reached 150K+ people.

An international speaker and consultant, in 2015 Stew won Thinkers50’s Distinguished Achievement Award for Talent and he has been recognized repeatedly as one of HR’s Most Influential International Thinkers.  Stew is currently developing an online workshop and book for parents and their partners who want to nourish their families, their careers, themselves, and our world.
