Vijay Govindarajan began his academic career as an associate professor at the Indian Institute of Management in 1978, after gaining his MBA and DBA from Harvard Business School. He has been associate professor at Harvard University and Ohio State University, and a visiting professor at the International University of Japan and INSEAD. In 1993 he was named a Top 10 Professor in Corporate Executive Education by BusinessWeek and in 1998, a Top 10 Indian global management guru by Businessworld.
A regular member of the Thinkers50 ranking since 2011, VG is also the recipient of the 2015 and 2019 McKinsey Awards for Best Article in the Harvard Business Review.
VG is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading experts on strategy and innovation.
