In their 2025 book, The Science of Leadership: Nine Ways to Expand Your Impact, Jeffrey Hull & Margaret Moore synthesise half a century of leadership research into a practical, self-coaching roadmap for aspiring and seasoned leaders. They distil 15,000+ studies and articles into nine key capacities, which they organise on three levels: self-oriented (conscious, authentic, agile); other-oriented (relational, positive, compassionate); and system-oriented (shared, servant, transformational).

Bio

Jeffrey is executive director and Margaret (aka coach Meg) is past chair of the Institute of Coaching (IOF), which they co-founded in 2009. Margaret also co-founded and was a course director of the Coaching in Leadership & Healthcare conference organised by the IOF and Harvard Medical School from 2008-2024, and founded Wellcoaches in 2000. Jeffery is also a clinical instructor in psychology at Harvard Medical School and an adjunct professor of leadership at New York University.
