Ideas

To begin the journey to authentic leadership, leaders must understand the story of their own life. Leaders that constantly test themselves through real-world experiences and reframe their life stories to understand who they are at their core discover the purpose of their leadership, and that being authentic makes them more effective. George argues that authentic leaders understand and have a passion for their purpose; have solid values – including integrity, which they practise and test themselves with; treat followers with compassion; fire up employees to achieve great things; and must forge common purpose and build a sense of connectedness.
