Ideas

A trailblazer in the field of young women’s leadership and education, Julie shapes the leaders of the future by researching and bringing evidence-based, applied-neuroscience leadership coaching and development (normally reserved for executives in the C-suite) to reach girls and young women, where it can have the most profound impact – in high school. With research showing that leader identity – someone self-identifying as a leader – begins in adolescence, leadership development needs to start at school, she argues. While leadership competencies and tools can be taught, she explains, they are not going to be used unless someone has first self-identified as a leader.
