Natalie Nixon

Creativity strategist and CEO, Figure 8.

Thinkers50 Radar Class of 2024.

Shortlisted for the Soundview 2020 Best Business Books Award.

2020 Porchlight Business Book of the Year Award, Creativity & Innovation category.

In her 2020 book, The Creativity Leap, Natalie contends that in the fourth industrial revolution, a creativity leap is needed to bridge the gap that exists between the churn of work and the highly sought-after prize called innovation. Creativity, she argues, is not associated solely with the arts; to be a great scientist, engineer, innovator or entrepreneur requires immense creativity. And since humans are hardwired to be creative, it is a competency anyone can develop, by balancing wonder and curiosity with rigour and discipline.

Natalie is a creativity strategist and president of Figure 8 Thinking. She advises leaders how to transform their businesses through creativity and foresight. Natalie is a regular contributor to Inc. and is the editor of Strategic Design Thinking. She is a global speaker whose roster includes TEDxPhiladelphia, Cusp conference, the Business Innovation Factory, and the European Innovation Academy. Natalie holds a PhD in design management, an MS in global textile marketing, and a BA (cum laude) in anthropology and Africana studies.
