Ideas

Richard researches how people and organisations engage in sustainable, desired change. His Intentional Change Theory (ICT) predicts how changes occur in different group of human organisations, including team, community, country, and global change. Ongoing research supporting this theory incudes developing new and better measures of an individual’s emotional, social, and cognitive intelligence as well as studies that demonstrate the relationship between these abilities and performance, and fMRI studies to establish neuro-endocrine arousal of coaching to the positive Emotional Attractor and resonant leadership.

Bio

The Distinguished University Professor and HR Horvitz Professor of Family Business at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Richard is also a professor in human resources at ESADE in Barcelona. A multi-award-winning teacher and researcher, he is a fellow of the American Psychological Association, Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and the Association for Psychological Sciences. Richard has consulted to Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and organisations across the world. His Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), Inspiring Leadership Through Emotional Intelligence, has over one million unique visitors and enrolments from over 215 countries.
