Ideas

A strategy and international business scholar, Sali’s research focuses on how businesses grow across borders and how companies survive, thrive, and adapt in a complex digital world. While traditional global strategy has long been built around the idea of scaling by replicating existing successful businesses in new regions, Sali contends today’s world of digital platforms and changing customer needs require a new model. His 2025 book, Global Strategy: A Market Creation Approach, offers new frameworks for understanding global expansion through new market creation and ecosystem-based innovation. Sali’s work on the internationalisation of digital platforms clarifies how network effects, platform governance, and institutional environments shape global scaling.
