Silk Weaving in 1750

Highly skilled silk weavers moved from France to Spitalfields, London, in the early 1700s. However, trouble began in the 1750s, when the market was unpredictable and silk imports from France were in direct competition. If you were a master weaver during this time, there were a number of business challenges to overcome.
