Every January, Thinkers50 announces 30 management and business thinkers to watch in the coming year. It is a diverse mix of people who have been nominated by the Thinkers50 community and whose work has attracted our attention. These are the new and exciting voices in management.
The result for 2023 is an eclectic group of people who, we believe, will make an impact with their ideas, their campaigning, their research, and their passion in the coming twelve months. More than that, by showcasing their ideas now, we hope they will be inspired to carry the torch for management thinking in the years ahead.
Our enduring belief is that great ideas are not bound by race, gender, sexuality, location, age, or wealth. Our Radar Class of 2023 is deliberately and unapologetically diverse. Some people have told us that proactively increasing diversity is difficult because it risks diluting quality: at Thinkers50, we take the exact opposite view. We believe that increasing diversity is essential to elevate the quality of ideas because it widens the spectrum.
And so, the Thinkers50 Radar Class of 2023 features a Jamaican-born expert on imposter syndrome, a Danish philosopher unleashing the power of questions, a Singaporean Indian DEI expert based in Denmark, a UK internet nerd and metaverse champion challenging the Splinternet, the former executive who got the Pope on Twitter, a Finnish efficiency expert based in Spain, and much more.
They don’t have all the answers, but they are asking important questions: questions we need to address as individuals, organizations and societies about everything from AI ethics to environmental politics, crypto currencies to Web 3.0, and leadership character to women social innovators.
We hope you enjoy exploring their ideas as much as we have!
